Latest/News AGM February 2014

Tony Foster the Hon Secretary has resigned from office. Tony has been a Committee Member for 18 years of this club and the Hon Secretary for the past 10 years. The London & Provincial Collie Club Open show for February 2014 was the first time members learnt of his plans.  It is a sad time but the appointed new Hon Sec is Di Collino, with full support from all Committee.  Although Tony is no longer the Hon Sec I am pleased to say he has not left L&PCC.  You will find him in the kitchen at the shows! Also L&PCC has lost another valued Committee Member this year, Diana Madge, she has been a Committee Member for 10 years.  Di worked relentlessly to provide numerous tasks for the club.
We have one new Committee Member, Yvonne McGrath and a co-opt’ Committee Member Angelic Hendrick.

Pictures are of Tony & Di receiving the presented gift from the club.

Questionnaire Results

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the questionnaire handed out at the November 2011 Championship Show.  We appreciate the fact that people gave their opinions and will be acting on some of the answers given and comments made. So watch this space…

We received completed questionnaires from thirty-three people, all of whom commented on the Langley venue. Fifteen also commented on Navestock Village Hall where we hold our February Open Show and eighteen gave their opinions on our August venue, Bradfield Village Hall.

Overall people enjoy our shows and there were a lot of nice comments about how friendly we are. A lot of people asked for seminars on various subjects from junior handling to grooming. Suggestions such as judges’ profiles are helpful and it is nice to think that so many people like our new website. Lastly, the comment about tasteless cheese has been noted by the catering subcommittee.

Nearly half the people who expressed an opinion think that this location is poor and the same percentage feel that it is too small. However, the same amount of people think that access is acceptable, two thirds find the parking is also acceptable and over half feel the same way about the facilities.

Unfortunately everything is rated as poor by some people. But, everything was also rated as excellent by others. We could say that this is a mixed bag.

With the exception of the facilities, more people rate Bradfield as being excellent than acceptable or poor and no one thinks that the facilities are poor. Overall you all seem to be happy with this venue although as several people commented, we have been lucky with having good weather every year.

The only aspect of Langley people think of as being poor is size. Someone described it as being cosy. In fact less than one in ten expressed that the size is excelllent. The votes on the parking, access and facilities are fairly evenly split and two thirds of people think that the location is accepable.

Once again we would like to thank you all for your votes and helpful comments. We have taken note of what you have to say and appreciate the fact that you took time to let us know what you think. If anyone has anything further they would like to add or suggest, please contact any committee member at one of the shows, or make a comment via the guest book page.
